It depicts a mother holding a flag and son leaving a cop car on his father’s grave.

Wyoming Law Enforcement Memorial to honor all the fallen Peace Officers in Wyoming’s history.

A Tribute to all Fallen Peace Officers
in and for Wyoming

Tom was was asked by the Wyoming Law Enforcement Memorial directors to create a sculpture that would honor Fallen Law Officers of Wyoming. They wanted to honor the families left behind as well. To that end, this sculpture scene uses their logo of a shield and rose for a gravesite scene.

Tom designed this beautiful, custom public monument. It depicts a young Mom holding her folded flag with her hand on the back of a young son at his Dad’s gravesite. On the gravestone, the WLEM logo is embedded with the words “In Remembrance of Wyoming Fallen Law Enforcement.” Roses are atop the gravestone. You can read more about this on the WLEM Facebook page.

A young boy has laid his toy cop car at the foot of the headstone in this statue.  Also featured is Wyoming’s iconic cowboy on a bucking bronco etched in the boys boots.

The Process:

When creating a custom bronze monument or sculpture, Tom’s process is to first create a blueprint. This is called a “maquette”. Concept ideas are worked out in this tabletop version of what will become a monumental size bronze sculpture scene. Customers are able to request any changes at this stage.

As in the case of the WLEM Memorial, these desktop sculptures are fully detailed. They can be cast and used as donor and fundraising gifts and incentives. From the approved maquette, Tom enlarges the sculpture into its final size. Any size can be chosen for the final bronze.

The Wyoming Law Enforcement Memorial Committee hads cast some of the tabletops for fundraising events. Once the needed funds are raised, this sculpture will be enlarged to monumental size for placing in Freedom Point Park, Cheyenne. The base on which the young mother is sitting will be made of granite and the names of fallen peace officers from Wyoming’s history will be engraved in the stone.

The WLEM Committee has asked that anyone interested in contributing to this Memorial contact the Committee at wylememorial@gmail.com. Alternatively, contact Marcey White at 928-713-3106 and she will get you to the right person on the Committee.

The desktop version “maquette” is the first stage in developing the final monumental bronze. Often the approved maquette is cast in bronze to use for fundraising events and donor gifts. To learn more or to contribute to the memorial, visit: https://www.facebook.com/WLEMemorial/
